The former Riverside Grammar School building was destroyed by fire one year ago today. It was built in the 1800's on land donated by the Slater Mill Company.
At the ringing of the dismissal bell in 1963, the last pupils to attend Riverside headed home from school. The building was converted for use by the Borough of Jewett City and the Town of Griswold, opening in 1965, as the seat of local government.
The cherished memories of students, teachers, municipal employees and residents remain as a tribute to Riverside Grammar School.

Let's remember the Arsonists, let's remember the lack of Police Protection that cost over 80k a year, let's remember the politicians who watchful eyes were blinded by inconpetance.
Let's remember our dutiful Town Leaders lack of accountability of the Cleanup!
Let's Remember all of this come Election TIME!
Amen to that - let's get the Merchants and Brycki and all their cronies who sit on the Board of Finance and are in their back pockets out of office and get some honest people in there for a change. we've started the honesty with Anne Hatfield - let's keep the ball rolling! Mr. Ward may well be just what this town needs. Let's shake em up, Ron!!
