The informal event will give candidates running on the JCP ticket an opportunity to greet residents, taxpayers, and community members and listen to their concerns on issues for the upcoming May 7, 2007 municipal election. All members of the Jewett City community are encouraged to attend and exchange ideas.
Ron Ward, JCP candidate for Borough Warden, stated, "Political contributions will not be accepted. This 'Chew the Fat on Fat Tuesday' Mardi Gras event is an opportunity to gather as a community."
Happy's Restaurant & Steak House will be offering its fresh salad bar and selections from its full service menu of steaks, seafood, and pasta entres from which guests can purchase a festive Mardi Gras dinner. Jewett City Party will be providing complimentary soda, coffee, and beverages at this alcohol free event.
The Jewett City Party slate for the May 7, 2007 municipal elections will include the following candidates:

- Burgess: Katrease Gerace
- Burgess: Gayle Renaud
- Bailiff: James Couillard
- Clerk of the Borough
- Treasurer of the Borough
- Tax Collector of the Borough
