Jewett City Borough Church Bells

I hear that the Dailey show was in the Jewett City Borough today about the church bells that play Patriotic music over a sound system. Some Athiest complained who doesn't even live in the town and the Dailey show comes to town to interview residents and business owners. I was hysterically laughing this evening when I heard they interviewed Ron Ward. I think he has lived here a few months. The guy is not all there and this network intervies him? They are sure to get some Jerry Spring worthy material out of that guy. At least they spoke to well respected Phil Anthony who has been a well respected business many for decades. Speaking as a resident of the borough. WE LOVE THE BELLS, THANK YOU FIRST SELECTWOMAN ANNE HATFIELD FOR KEEPING TRADITION ALIVE.

It is refreshing to have someone finally stand up for the people of Jewett City. While I may not vote for the Jewett City Party, I am thankful for the attention you have brought to the issues gacing our community. I look forward to the debate between the the 3 Party Candidates before the upcoming elections.

Dear Jewett City Party:

It is obvious in reading some of the comments posted to this blog that there are always cowards who will sling mud at others and try to drag up one's past. This is the surest confirmation that these individuals offer no ideas or solutions of their own.

Please promise us that at the onset of this Movement for the people by the people that you will stay focused on the future and the solutions that will make life better for all of us.

Although I don't live in JC, I think the idea of a consumer board of utility control is a good one.

Anonymous said... January 10, 2007 10:47 PM

Wouldn't it be nice if the Director of the Utilities told us his plan to try and reduce our costs, and help us conserve some of the money we are funneling into his account

What exactly is the point of having an electric company in the borough if we are going to end up paying more than the folks who live just outside the borough?

We are fortunate to have such a wonderful library here in the Wonderful Borough of Jewett City. In addition to the many books we can read, videos you can borrow, they also bring in some wonderful programs for families and children.

Does the Jewett City First Party believe that Consolidation with the Town of Griswold is something that would benefit us all?

Perhaps the new developments on 164, will encourage SEAT to extend there routes past Lisbon Landing.

Query -- As a registered Jewett City Democratic Party voter, I am wondering, how does an individual resident wanting to discuss betterment for the City (Jewett) reserve the public Town Hall meeting room for an open forum? How about 7:00 pm on Wednesday January 24th? I don't have a key.

Do the keys to the City belong to the elected officials only? Or, do the keys to the City (Jewett) belong to the residents?

If there aren't any of our elected officials available to open the doors, so that the Jewett City (independent) party can hold a community discussion, where shall we go?

Shall the people meet at the Jewett City Baptist Church where the bells still ring free?

God bless America!

Amen to that - let's get the Merchants and Brycki and all their cronies who sit on the Board of Finance and are in their back pockets out of office and get some honest people in there for a change. we've started the honesty with Anne Hatfield - let's keep the ball rolling! Mr. Ward may well be just what this town needs. Let's shake em up, Ron!!

Let's remember the Arsonists, let's remember the lack of Police Protection that cost over 80k a year, let's remember the politicians who watchful eyes were blinded by inconpetance.
Let's remember our dutiful Town Leaders lack of accountability of the Cleanup!

Let's Remember all of this come Election TIME!

Maybe if we had the kids from JC walk instead of being pampered with the bus, we could re-allocate that fuel to SEAT and continue the operation! My kids always walked to school, and guess what? None of them are obese either, in fact because of walking to school, it got them involved in Cross Country and Track.

SEAT has received money from the towns, money from the State, money from the federal Govt, and I never saw them reduce service when EB was at 100,000 strong!

In the end it's all about money, not service. I pity that poor blind guy that relies on that bus route on a daily basis to be able to break the boundaries of JC and all the others as well! I guess we can forget about the ADA now as well.

Who is ron ward? Where does he come from? What are his family values? What religion is he? Does he smoke, drink or do drugs?
Where did he come from? New London?
How long has he lived here? I heard three months? Did he come here just to run for office because he doesn't have a job? Is that true?
Does he have a job or is he just plain wealthy? What kind of car does he drive, does he have one? What about a drivers license? Is that why he is worried about the seat bus schedule? Isn't he in the fire department and work as their liason with the town hall? How does he get to fire scenes? Should he be able to drive? He wanted to save the bells but did Ms. Hatfield save the bells? I thought so. Has anybody asked about this individual? These are just a few starter quesitons.

To whom ever said, let the kids walk to school. That would be great if I could. If our town were safer, I would have no problem letting my children walk to school. Now, I can't stand it if they are out of my sight. And the JCP announced at the Jan 24th meeting, "Lets get rid of the police and go to a 0 mil rate." Well, that certainly would not improve our crime rate and make this a safer place for all. Unless Ron is going to stand watch at night?

Ron, why is your phone number registered in Eichelberg, R's name?

Why does Ron not answer any of the questions posted here? Isn't this HIS website?
